We’re now an Authorised Corporate Service Provider — identity checks made simple

As part of the Economic Crime and Corporate Transparency Act 2023, Companies House is rolling out a new system for verifying the identities of company directors and persons with significant control (PSCs). Here’s what that means for you:

What’s changing?

From autumn 2025, all new directors and PSCs must verify their identity before they can be appointed. Existing officers will need to complete this by autumn 2026 (or by their next confirmation statement date after 18 November 2025, whichever comes first).

How you can verify

You can do it yourself using Companies House’s digital platform or visit a participating Post Office. But here’s the easier route: AEL Markhams is now a registered Authorised Corporate Service Provider (ACSP), which means we can handle the entire verification process for you.

Why use an ACSP?

It removes the admin burden and avoids you having to manage the process yourself. We’ll verify your identity, submit everything to Companies House, and your personal code will be emailed to you directly once complete.

What we’ll handle

What we need from you

To carry out the verification, we’ll need:

• A copy of your passport photo page
• A recent utility bill or bank statement showing your name and address
• The email address you’d like your personal code sent to

Why this matters

Without a verified personal code, you won’t be able to file confirmation statements, appoint directors, or update certain company details. If you’re a director of multiple companies, the same code applies across them—but it must be linked to each one individually.
